Negligent Surgeon Performs A Vasectomy On A Patient By Mistake

A negligent surgeon that gave a male patient a vasectomy accidentally, has been let go from the facility that he performed his medical tasks at; further reports reveal that a medical procedure to correct the accident has failed. The facility where the accidental operation was carried out in has admitted to its error. However, even more shocking news is that this is only one out of five operations that were performed accidentally at the facility.

When news regarding this accidental surgery began to leak, the man who was injured by the accidental procedure, decided to step forward. In fact, the man was only supposed to undergo a minor procedure when he was admitted. Instead, he was given a vasectomy. The hospital where the procedure was carried out at, gave the young man its sincere apologies.

A procedure that was supposed to correct the issue is not going to be able to fix the problem either. This does not mean that the man will not be able to have his own children one day. Instead, this means that the man will never be able to have children naturally. Any children that the man wishes to have in the future will have to be conceived through IVF.

A clinical negligence lawyer spoke regarding the patients ordeal. He believes that the patient should be able to seek compensation for the wrongdoing. Theoretically, the patient should be able to obtain £100,000 or more, based on a few circumstances. Some of the circumstances that will need to be evaluated are the age of the patient, and whether the accidental procedure has made him entirely infertile or not.

On top of the patient being compensated for the wrong procedure being performed on him, the NHS will also be required to pay for all of the patient’s medical expenses. The negligence lawyer stated in situations such as this, where the hospital has admitted their wrongdoings, the NHS will need to hold up to their end of the bargain, and not charge the man for any care associated with the mistake.

The NHS has chosen to take it upon themselves to rectify this situation as quickly as possible. If the situation is taken care of quickly, then legal fees associated with doing so, for both the patient and the NHS should not be more than a few thousand. In this particular scenario, the age of the patient, which has not been disclosed, is going to play a big role in how the entire ordeal pans out.

If you or someone you know have been a victim of a negligent surgeon, make sure to seek compensation.

Negligent Surgeon Asked To Stand Down After Four Cases Arise

A negligent surgeon has been asked to stand down, after he allegedly cut out a healthy testicle of a patient, and then removed a kidney that was disease free from another patient. Antonio Vega, a urologist has been suspended from performing any medical surgeries, after authorities were informed that the surgeon was being accused of four different malpractice cases, that started occurring in 2011.

The facility that the surgeon was employed at, was not only forced to put the surgeon on suspension, but the director that was in charge of surgical procedures for the facility, was also suspended as a result of the surgeons negligence. If comments had not been made to the health board by a coroner regarding the health services that were being commissioned by the facility, it is a possibility that this negligent surgeon could still be performing surgeries on patients that had no idea what they were in for.

There were three separate cases that were given attention, when it came to deciding to suspend the surgeon. The three cases that were brought to the services attention were when a patient that had one healthy testicle had it removed by the surgeon, a wrong kidney was removed on another patient, and the surgeon nicked an artery on another patient.

In fact, one patient that was operated on by the doctor had to be transported to a care center following the surgery, in order to correct what the surgeon had done to them. According to the doctor that looked at the patient after their artery was nicked, they stated that it appears to have happened while the patient was being operated on, and went unnoticed. The patient had lost a substantial amount of blood as a result of the surgeons negligent behaviors.

Although these three occurrences provide enough reason for the surgeon to be removed from his position, the surgeon was not taken out of his current position, until a fourth offense occurred. The fourth case happened in late April of 2014. This case has yet to be made public like the other three, due to the patients confidentiality. Special systems are put into place to protect the people who require doctor assistance.

The surgeon is more than qualified to perform the work that he does. He received a PhD in 2011, and completed all of his Australian qualifications in 2011 as well. The surgeon has previously worked for other facilities around the area. The reasons why the surgeon chose to be negligent when performing the surgeries that have led to him being stood down have still not been released.

The cases are presently being investigated, and the people that the surgeon performed the procedures on are attempting to take legal actions against the surgeon. The surgeon has yet to release any details of the surgeries that he performed. The surgeon and the leading surgeon of the facility that he is employed at, have both stood down, future details and judicial litigation will determine what happens to the surgeon, and his career.
